Illinois Matmen 2017-18 Season

$5,110 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 99 people in 9 months
I (Mike Bare aka admin) have been overwhelmed by the support Illinois Matmen has received over the past few days from the Illinois wrestling community and have decided to move forward with the 2017-18 season.

We will once again have our own set of Illinois Matmen high school individual and team rankings, articles on duals and tournaments, feature stories on wrestlers, coaches, and programs, highlight videos from the biggest events including the IHSA state tournament, live broadcasts from around the state, timely dual and tournament results, and a lively discussion forum as in years past.

In order to get quality people to help us produce this quality content and to keep it all FREE to our tens of thousands of visitors, we need your help.

Please consider making a donation. From a small donation of a few dollars to something much larger, anything you are willing and able to give is greatly appreciated and will go directly towards providing coverage for the hard-working wrestlers in our state. If everyone that loves this site chips in, we will easily reach our goal and be able to provide great coverage all season long.

As you know, wrestling doesn't get the coverage it deserves in mainstream media (newspapers and TV). Illinois Matmen is committed to giving wrestlers a platform they can be proud of and turn to for all things Illinois wrestling.

Thanks for your consideration and continued support!

Hopefully everyone is enjoying Illinois Matmen's coverage so far this season! We have produced nearly 30 original stories covering wrestlers and teams from all over the state and have added several new features including state POWER rankings, wrestler of the week, and whatever happened to. We are looking to expand our video coverage the rest of the season with more matches and highlight videos from the top tournaments around the state. Stay tuned for that.

In order to keep up this level of coverage and do even more, we need your support! We are burning through the funds we raised so far and need to make another push to get through the season.

Please consider making a donation. We had over 111,000 unique visitors in December alone (a new record for the site). Just think what kind of coverage we could provide if even a small number of those people chipped in a small amount.

Thanks for your continued support and we'll see you at the mats!

Thanks to all of those that have donated to our campaign so far! We have raised $3,250 in just 10 days, but things have started to slow down. If you haven't donated yet but have thought about it, please consider giving just $5 to $10. We had over 55,000 unique visitors to our site in November alone. Just think if everyone chipped in only a few dollars, the type of coverage we could provide the Illinois wrestling community.

Below is some of the content we have already produced this season. Each story, set of rankings, highlight video, etc takes time and costs money to produce. We want to continue this level of coverage all season long, and with your support, we can make that happen!

We have crossed the $2,000 mark in just 3 days! Thank you so much to the 47 individuals that have donated so far! We are well on our way to reaching our goal. If you haven't chipped in yet, please consider even a small donation such as $5-$10. Every little helps and will go a long way in helping us cover wrestling in Illinois.

Our first ever set of Illinois Matmen high school POWER rankings will be released this week listing the top 6 wrestlers at each weight across all 3 classes as well as the top 6 teams, and then next week, the ORIGINAL Illinois Matmen high school rankings return!

We also have 4 feature stories still to come this week as well as a story on our GO EARN IT Wrestler of the Week!

Thanks again for your support and please continue to help spread the word!
