Danielle's Medical Expenses

Well never thought I'd be doing this. Unfortunately the stress is too much to bare. Sometimes we all need a little help and I guess this is one of those times. October 31st, I moved back to my home state of Michigan from Virginia. Shortly after arriving home, I started having a pain in my left leg. I quickly associated it with moving and thought it would go away, which it did. A week later I noticed my leg was swelling, it was noticeably larger than my other leg.  I knew something was wrong and immediately went to the emergency room. After blood work and ultrasounds it was determined I had Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Once I was diagnosed with DVT, they admitted me into the hospital and started me on blood thinners. A few hours later they wanted to run a CT scan for precautionary measures and to see if I had any clots in my lung. Which I did, it was determined I had four Pulmonary Embolisms (PE).  I had four clots in both sides of my lung, which can be very fatal. After spending 5 days in the hospital and having my blood drawn every 3 hours, my blood work came back therapeutic and I was finally released from the hospital. I was put on a Coumadin and was told to come back in 3 days to follow up. Now I dont have insurance. I applied for insurance through the state but that could take up to 90 days. I still have to go weekly to see the doctor to have my blood drawn, so they are able to adjust my medication accordingly.  Yesterday I was turned away from the doctors because they had told me I needed to pay for the visit up front. =( I just moved back a month ago, I'm working but not nearly enough to survive and pay all the medical cost. So therefore I’m in a bind. It’s very important I see the doctor. If I dont go regularly to get my blood drawn and my medication adjusted, its possible i could have more clotting issues or problems with the current clots I have now. I really dont know what to do. This situation is stressful enough, worrying about the costs is driving me insane. I really appreciate all the support and I dont want no one to feel obligated. It was suggested I make a page like this. So why not, whats it going to hurt? All funds would be applied to medication, doctors office visits, and my very large hospital bill.
