Ife Piankhi Hospital Fund

£7,960 of £12,000 goal

Raised by 228 people in 4 months
Created December 28, 2018
On the morning of Friday 28th December Ife Piankhi was admitted to hospital in Uganda after a suspected stroke and bleeding on the brain. This is a very serious situation and condition. Hospital services in Uganda are NOT free so Ife and her family will need assistance with meeting those fees to make sure Ife gets the best care possible. The medical costs for Ife in the hospital have been set by the hospital at £12,000. This is an enormous amount of money that the family will not be able to achieve in such a short space of time. Every penny raised will go direct to the family in Uganda. Your generosity will be very much appreciated and blessed.

Greetings friends and family. It’s been a while but here’s the update......
Ife is presently with her friend Kaya who is taking her to hospital appts/ tests in Kampala. She will also have an opportunity to have physio although it’s unclear how often she will have this service. Her feeding tube is finally out and now she starting to eat. Her progress is slow but certainly improving.
Her care is being shared between Kaya and Kh’amara.
In the meantime I have been repeatedly asked how the younger children are. They had planned to travel to the UK arriving yesterday however they were stopped at immigration and were not allowed to leave the country. This is a huge disappointment not simply for Amenta and Nerfertem but for their eldest sister Imani and everyone who has been supporting them and ife.
I thank and bless everyone who continues to donate through the gofundme and to myself. We will continue to send funds for Ife’s care and support as best we can her children.
Peace Debbie

Ife has now left hospital and is now being cared for by her daughter Kh'amara and her daughters partner David.
Funds can be directed to Kh'amara's boyfriends account with no fees to help pay for a professional carer at £10 per visit 3 times a week and a physiotherapist one a week at £10 per visit.

Good morning friends and family I had delayed feedback last week but today I can finally report that Kh’amara with Ife’s permission has decided to discharge from the hospital to Kh’amara’s home. We had following Marsha’s trip to Uganda, hoped that by moving her to the rehabilitation centre she would get the specialist care to aid her speedier recovery, however 24hr care is what Kh’amara is willing to do with the aid of nursing care /physio. It’s unclear at this time what nursing support can be put in place but Kh’amara is determined to care for her mother and we can only support her as best we can to do this. Ife will be discharged once the final hospital bill is paid, hopefully within the week as Kh’amara intends to move Ife quite soon. It has been a very difficult and traumatic experience particularly for Ife but also for her children both here and in Uganda. I hope that we and the hundreds of supporters and contributors both in Uganda, here and across the world will all continue to support Ife in her recovery through donations, prayers, positive vibes and actions.
Peace Debbie
