For the last 2 years New Urban Registry and our team members have been raising money to help marginalized people in our community obtain proper government issued identification. This year is more important than ever as several of the agencies that were once aiding with identification are no longer able to participate due to lack of funding and resources.
Last year we we able to assist over 150 people in getting their ID card, driver's license, or birth certificate. Having these documents is a required stepping stone to improve quality of life for many mraginalised individuals. These documents are required when applying for permanent housing, employment, and schooling.
New Urban Registry understands this need and we know that, a lot of the time, the burden is the cost. Help us spread the word for the importance of ID and remove another barrier in the lives of people in our community.
The funds raised from GOFUNDME will be available for use as of September 15th, 2018
