Why should you donate to YM this Ramadan?
YMB (Young Muslims Brothers) and YMS (Young Muslims Sisters) are national non-profit grassroots organizations for youth between the ages 15-25. At the local level, the youth meet up at their YMB/YMS chapters, referred to as NeighborNets, on a weekly basis. Young Muslims is an organization run by the youth for the youth.
We as the youth can attest to the fact that there are many struggles associated with being an openly practicing Muslim. There is a struggle in fighting off doubts in Islam. There is a struggle in not conforming to party and "hook-up" culture. There is a struggle in identifying as a Muslim. Even amongst Muslims, conversations about Islam may be uncomfortable or hard to come by.
However, YM actively seeks to alleviate these struggles among the Muslim youth. YM strives to build brotherhood and sisterhood in an environment that is free of criticism and judgment. The youth need a place where they won't lose Islam - in fact, they need a place where they can find it and develop themselves.
At any given time YM supports over 100 NeighborNets nationwide. As an organization that believes in empowering the youth, we have several leadership seminars, retreats, and conferences throughout the year that inspire our members to grow, lead, and live their lives in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
In order to adequately serve as a support system for our local, regional, and national community, we are seeking to raise $20,000 within these last few days of Ramadan for the upcoming year. To learn more about YM, scroll down to view our videos and informational graphics.
We Need Your Help!
Young Muslims operates completely and successfully through the backing and charitable donations of our supporters. The money raised will help facilitate our various projects and leadership initiatives for the remainder of the year.
As Ramadan concludes, YM is set to embark on the second half of the year with some of our biggest projects. These projects include:
*YM Northeast Brothers Retreat, August 22-26, 2015
*YM California Brothers Retreat, August 7-9, 2015
*Brothers Neighbor Net Coordinators Conference, July 31-Aug 2, 2015
*Sisters Neighbor Net Coordinators Conference, August 14-17, 2015
Funds raised will go towards these projects as well as the various other initiatives and areas of operations for YM.
