MGMS Chorus Trip to FL
Earlier this school year, the Myrtle Grove 8th grade chorus submitted 2 audition tapes to Disney World. When Miss Baden spoke with representative of the performances in the parks, the idea had been that the 8th grade chorus would perform a song as a part of a showcase. We began planning fundraisers and organizing events which would help families with the cost of the trip. The students in the chorus and drama departments put together a Fall Festival, which raised around $3,000 for the program.
The first week in November, we received a call that the "powers that be" had watched our tapes multiple times and had decided to offer us a 30 minute show of our own, a huge honor for a middle school group. We excitedly, albeit nervously, accepted their offer.
The money raised through gofundme will help pay for students who are not able to afford the trip, or portions of the trip. It will also help pay for a fraction of the group's ticket package to (hopefully) see The Blue Man Group.
These students have worked so hard and every performance they give tops the last. Thank you all for your support!
