Emergency Bill Assistance

Last month, I encountered some difficulties. Surprise medical expenses took me from being able to keep up with my monthly expenses (if only barely) to being weeks behind on everything. They also made it impossible for me to supplement my income with plasma donations.  My roommate was helping get things back on track by shouldering a larger share of our monthly expenses, but then her hours were cut by nearly two-thirds (from 40 hours to under 15) with no explanation, making it impossible for her to even maintain paying her normal half of the bills.

Now I've arranged for an increase in my own hours at work and my roommate has found a new job with better pay, but because of her job change there will be a gap of time before she gets her first paycheck and before my new hours show up in my own pay. By the time we're both again able to pay our bills on time, we'll be nearly two months behind on our rent and utilities thus running the very real risk of a shutdown or eviction proceedings.

What I am asking for is help getting ourselves back on time with our bills so that our own income can once again keep us going. Our total cost for monthly essentials (rent, utilities, food) runs approximately $1,000, but with half that I can cover payments we're currently behind on .

I can't offer anything in return except honest thanks and a promise to pay this generosity forward as much as I am able.
