On December 7, 2015 my Uncle Jimmy Stevens suffered a devasting fall and is now paralyzed from the chest down. He does have full use of his arms thankfully, and we are hoping to help him rebuild his life and to become as independent as possible. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase him a customized electric wheelchair and handicapped modified vehicle. He will need a custom chair to fit his tall six foot four frame.
At this time he is still in the Baltimore Shock Trauma Hospital but will be transferred to a rehabilitation facility when he has recovered enough to be moved.
He is a single father with a 13 year old daughter. They have always loved the outdoors, hiking and fishing, riding his motorcycle and many other activities. Has has always loved his job working at the National Zoo taking care of the animals.
Now he is facing a lifetime of new challenges and we are hoping to alleviate some of them by giving him back his mobility. Any extra funds will be used to help with his medical expenses.
