Emily's Entourage

I am a firm believer that people come into your life for a reason. Last April, I had the privilege of meeting Emily. A beautiful, driven, and talented 29-year-old woman. Emily’s smile and passion could light up a room and capture a stranger’s heart. Emily is living a life with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system as well as many other organ systems. It causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs, which leads to life-threatening lung infections.
· There are approximately 30,000 people with CF in the United States and 70,000 worldwide.
· The average life expectancy is 41.
Emily has fought this disease head on from day one. More importantly, in 2011, Emily started Emily’s Entourage to raise money and to help find a cure for CF with a focus on rare mutations. They have done this through mobilizing friends, families, business, and communities to join Emily’s Entourage on their quest for new treatments and a cure.
This year is Emily’s 30th birthday and my present to her is to raise $1000 to help fund further research to find a cure for CF. On December 13th, the 3rd annual Evening with Emily’s Entourage. I want to be able to present her with donation.
Please Share Emily’s story with everyone you know. Share “MY” ask with all your family and friends. More importantly, Emily has been an inspiration in my life and I want the opportunity to share many more life events with her!!!!
2014 Achievements:
· Raised over $670,00 on its way to this year’s goal of a million dollars
· Funded three drug discovery research studies on rare Cystic Fibrosis mutations
· Brought together top researchers from around the world for an upcoming research symposium on nonsense mutations of CF in partnership with Penn’s Center for Orphan Diseases
