Barry and I need help, plain and simple help. Money will be a huge help, but thoughts, prayers, and well wishes will go much further. It is like we are in a constant game of coin toss and at the moment I got heads. We put the coin back in the hat for the next round.
I (Jill) has a rare genetic disorder called Cowden Sydrome. It is a problem with the PTEN gene missing. I am getting over a rash under control that has been with me over a year now. This disorder allows your body to produce tumors over night or whenever it wants to.
Since 2004
*my tonsils have grown back
*a ruptured cyst had to be removed from .
*I have been through 3 rounds of treatments for thyroid issues with the third round being papillary thyroid cancer.
*a brain tumor, benign. Thank goodness! It was a a side effect that lead the doctors to my diagnosis. Had brain surgery, emergency, with the brain tumor being close to the brain stem. I could have been killed.
Barry had to have is aortic valve replaced! Two years later, we awoke to Barry, my sweetheart, was in the middle of a right massive terminal stroke. He is so sweet to everyone!
We got my sweetheart taken care of, but my not be fore we both had a coin in the hat.
*Not long after the brain tumor, in came the breast cancer. I had several surgery's to clear the margins, then a port was placed under the skin to aid in the a stick with an IV and other needles.
*time to treat the breast cancer, chemotherapy and radiation. During the middle of all this, Barry and I are connecting the computer to our TV. Out of the blue...he passes out cold, hit the base of the skull on the front door. He had a seizure from the whack on his head. EMS arrived quickly and off for an ambulance ride to the local ER. I have trouble driving. My younger sister was kind enough to pick me up. We chased the ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital on the north end of Atlanta.
We have an opportunity to see several specialist in Cleveland, Ohio. They have researched this disease over several decades. According to everyone around the south, of course, we are east of Atlanta, Georgia....longgggg trip! We are good with getting there and home, but I do prefer not to use a rental car as a hotel room and sleep in the parking lot. If our pile of bills catch up with us, I hate to think what we would look like. The local weather would break every snowfall record known to mankind. I am not sure a shredder has been made capable of handling the boxes we are attempting to deal with.
Whether it is Barry or myself, it is the same hospital. The main hospital I was using, has recently purchased the one my sweetheart uses. I look for our wing whenever we are there, yet to find one dedicated to us.
