Donations to Texas Animal Rescue

$7,541 of $8,000 goal

Raised by 105 people in 13 months
As many of you know Hurricane Harvey has devastated all of Southeast Texas and not only has left hundreds of thousands of people without a home but also tens of thousands of pets stranded without food, water, shelter or their families.  A group of us are collecting donations that we will be driving down there this Saturday due to the overwhelming support we are going to need to rent a large truck to bring all of these donations down.  The current expenses for the truck are roughly $2,500 as well as the additional $400 for gas and tolls.

Every dollar counts so please if you cannot donate simply share and ask others to help join us in our efforts.  Anything raised over our goal will go towards the purchase of additional donation items that we will be bringing down with us.

Thank you and stay tuned for more updates!

Prior to Hurricane Harvey making landfall in Texas, Gunner's family had temporarily relocated for work up to Pennsylvania while Gunner stayed with family friends back in Texas. Unfortunately, during the chaos, Gunner was lost and ended up at Austin Pets Alive! as a stray where he was fostered by a wonderful couple, Christy and Jesse, who quickly realized he wasn't a stray at all. This is his story...

On August 25th Hurricane Harvey devastated the Gulf Coast, it was less than a week later that Isabel and Kenny Pymm reached out about a trip down to Texas to drop off donations and help with animal rescue efforts. Within 48 hours we were able to collect over 5,000 pounds of food, treats and medical supplies thanks to the amazing generosity of this wonderful community we are a part of. Over the next 5 days we drove 4,500 miles, raised nearly $9,000 transported over 30 animals across and out of the state of Texas. We encountered some of the most incredible and dedicated animal lovers doing amazing things to help out our four legged friends in need. This video wouldn’t have been possible without the support of each and every one of you who shared our posts, donated to our fundraiser and supported our efforts. We are sincerely grateful for everything you all did to help make this trip happen and hope you enjoy the video! We are still taking donations to cover the expenses of the trip so if you would like to contribute please head over to our fundraiser here:

Things have been super busy on our end so we apologize for the delayed update! We are so excited to let you all know that all of the #Harvey24 have found either foster or forever homes thanks to all of your donations!

It was through your donations that we were able to bring home a total of 25 animals back from Texas! Gunner was our first commitment we came across. He is an adorable hound that was separated from the family he was staying with and ended up in a shelter and a foster home in Austin. The foster's quickly realized he was actually someone's dog after seeing a post on facebook! It was after some coordination that we were able to make our way up to Austin to pick him up and ended up driving him all the way up to York, PA to reunite him with his family!

The #Harvey24 came from the Barking Mad Animal Rescue in Hemphill, TX. We managed to bring back 13 dogs, 7 cats and 4 nursing kittens! They were all absolutely amazing during the ride and have the best personalities ever. Once we got back to New York we went over to the Manhasset Animal Hospital to get them all checked out and vaccinated. Within less than 7 days we were able to get all of them into either foster or forever homes! We are still working hard to get them all adopted so stay tuned for more updates!!

His family had relocated up to Pennsylvania prior to the hurricane and he was staying with family friends but unfortunately was lost during the storm. This is what your donation money has made possible so thank you all so much! Stay tuned for more
