Hurricane Harvey UAV Assistance
$5,140 of $5,000 goal
As you surely already know, Hurricane Harvey has devastated Houston, and other areas of Texas. Our very own Jes Chosid, Brian Scott, Daniel Herbert, Tyris Audronis, and Jay Lewis are headed down to the Houston area to assist Parker Gyokeres with urgent disaster assessments for local relief agencies. They are bringing their UAVs with them and they have authorization to fly in the area under an emergency FAA authorization. This is a Red Cross requested mission and the team has a space in the command center to coordinate its efforts with pilot teams. The team lead was told by the head of the Damage Assessment division (DA) that they desperately need the data that only our drones can provide. This is truly “Drones for Good.” They need our help though – They have incurred unexpected expenses, including the use of a large RV and many supplies to be self-sustaining in Texas (as to not be a burden there themselves). They have also had a flurry of misfortune with tire blow outs and other damage from traveling. If you are able to donate a few dollars to help their cause, we'd be forever grateful. The team is directly assisting the Red Cross and other local government agencies in Houston, Port Arthur, Rockport, and Holiday Beach. 100% of the proceeds from this GoFundMe will be used to support their cause. All additional funds beyond their needs will be immediately utilized to purchase much needed supplies for local residents of the affected areas – being dropped off at one of the more popular and well received distribution centers. If you can donate, we'd greatly appreciate it. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me through GoFundMe or Facebook.
