Help Hunt Middle School stage the beloved musical “Willy Wonka!”
Every year the Hunt Middle school drama program must raise the money to provide Hunt students the opportunity to perform in a schoolwide musical. Hunt Middle School is a culturally and economically diverse school, serving about 400 children drawing from both the Old North End and New North End of Burlington.
One in five students speak English as a second language, and little over half the student body qualifies for free or reduced lunch. Although there are many clubs and sports offered at Hunt, the theater program is a valuable addition to the broad spectrum of opportunities offered to the students. There are no cuts and all children who wish to participate are welcome. We anticipate over 75 children being involved in this experience from acting on stage, to designing sets or helping with costumes. All costs associated with the production must be paid through voluntary fundraising efforts. A production of this size costs $8500.
We are seeking help in raising the funds to produce this year’s show as well as purchase equipment to help light our stage. Hundreds of volunteer hours go into bringing the annual musical to the Hunt Middle School stage. Tickets for the performances are free so that all community members can access and enjoy the show.
Please help us meet our fundraising goal of $8,000! Every penny raised will pay for production costs and ensure that we can continue to offer this experience to enrich the lives of the Hunt Middle School students and all community members who wish to attend!
