Hunter Wade Culpepper Recovery Fund
Hunter Culpepper 21, was critically injured in a dirt bike collision Tueday morning March 14, 2017 when a deer ran out in front of him.
He was careflighted to Baylor Scott and White- Hillcrest Hospital in Waco with extensive head injuries.
As of yesterday, Thursday, March 16, 2017, he remains in critical condition and it is still a minute by minute situation. He is responding more to pain stimuli and his pupils are sluggishly responding, which is an improvement. He does have a broken collarbone, broken nose and road rash, as well as a large laceration on his head. Since any touching or talking to him stimulates his brain, they have asked us not to do those things and have placed a no visitors order to reduce the risk of infection.
As you can see Hunter has a long recovery in front of him. And of course along with that there are expenses.. Medical, transportation, lodging.. the list is long. Any amount that you can afford to donate will be APPRECIATED! This is a great family! With prayer and their faith and the relentless support from their family and friends, the road ahead will hopefully be a little easier.
Please help him in anyway you can. We are also asking that you continue to pray for him! It’s working.
Thank you in advance from Hunter and our family.

Update on Hunter,
Amye and I want to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support for Hunter and our family. Hunter is in stable condition and is improving each day. He has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility where he will work with different therapists and nursing staff to work with him, check his progress and take care of him. He has been actively moving his left arm and leg, but as of yesterday started moving his right arm, which is a blessing due to him having a stroke on the left side of his brain from the initial trauma. He is using a CPAP machine for breathing, but has been able to breathe on his own for several hours during the day, so we are hoping that he will be taken off the ventilator soon. Everyday is a new day with TBI and it takes time to heal. Hunter is strong and active so we know he can get through this! Please continue to pray for Hunter and his continued healing. Thank you,
Hunter is still fighting that fever today and his numbers are high. They are removing his central line that is close to his heart and putting in a picc line instead to try to head off any infection. The sedation has been decreased to see how he may respond. He needs extra prayers today friends!
Update on Hunter
Hunter made it out of surgery yesterday. It went as well as the doctors could expect and the next week will be a very critical period. They had to remove a portion of his left front temporal lobe that was damaged and leave the left flap open for the brain to swell so pressure will go down to help with healing. Hunter is continuing to be a fighter and he will not give up.
Hunter is stable as of now and had a fairly quiet night as also into the day today and we are still remaining positive, we are hoping within the next few days he will wake up and we can learn more about his progress.
Please continue to pray for Hunter as we move forward and his continued healing.
