Humblebees - Support Our Mission

Donation protected
Humblebees' number one goal is to improve the quality of life for our homeless neighbors living on the streets and in shelters or missions throughout the region. We remain humble, knowing that all we do is for the good of our fellow man and the community...

And we've been successful, helping our neighbors one backpack at a time.

Our volunteers and I diligently hand deliver Winter Survival Kits to those in need in the Tri-State area providing protection and comfort to the homeless so they can more effectively utilize community resources to find stable housing and employment. This frees them to focus on improving their lives rather than worry about how to meet their basic human needs - needs that we, as a society, typically take for granted...

Humblebees was founded only a few months ago and began our mission with a simple idea:  raise awareness and funds to help those in need. We work hard, day-in and day-out for those without a voice of their own, who suffer the unthinkable burden of homelessness. They're our neighbors, our friends, our family members; forgotten and left to the cold...

They need our help.

I'm from a good home, well educated, had opportunities in life that some never have. Despite all this, eventually one thing lead to another and my life spun out of control. I ended up living first out of my car, then on streets. I was homeless for over two years, sleeping in the cold, traveling city to city looking for work... Fortunately, because I had a little help and used certain resources at my disposal, I slowly got back on my feet after that long arduous journey. Many homeless men, women, and families spend decades in this impoverished condition with no hope in sight... I'm the exception. (read more on the front page of The Ashland Beacon, continued on page 8)

This is the reason I created Humblebees.

Our small but dedicated advocacy group is comprised of a few of my close friends, my younger sister, and volunteers from the community. I consider myself very lucky to have loved ones by my side again. We are passionate about helping others and the rewarding nature of what we do - has no comparison. We're very grateful for the amazing outpouring of love and support from YOU - our friends and families. Without you, none of this would have been possible...

But we need YOUR help!

We're eager to expand our reach in the community to maximize our giving-power!  So far, we've partnered with one local corporate sponsor to further this goal. NeuroRestorative's Ashland branch and Humblebees recently co-hosted a Winter Clothing Drive. We received tons of your donations and helped a lot of people in our community! (read The Ashland Daily Independent article here) Our most important long-term goal for the continuation of Humblebees' involvement in the community year-round, is becoming a true 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. Without this legal status our impact is sorely limited. However, with it, we'll be able to request much larger amounts of clothing, food, and supplies from major corporations nationwide. We'll also be eligible to register for exclusive sponsorship programs that will allow us to help many more people in the Tri-State region than we ever could on our own.

Please, consider helping us in our endeavor.

Thank You!

Humbly Yours,
Alan

Our second event at Trinity Church in Huntington, WV was also a huge success, and a humbling experience. We've had a total of four events to date! Thank you for all your support!
