Chad King medical and rehab

Donation protected

March 11.  I got to visit and meet Chad at Vanderbilt.  He is recovering from brain surgery.  He has been in ICU since Feb 5.  He will be moved to a step down hospital to recover and gain his strength back before beginning rehab.  He has massive bedsores from being left laying in Puerta Rico for two weeks without being turned or bathed properly.
He may require surgery to help the bed sores to heal.   This is a man who works hard and has lost his lively hood and needs long term therapy to regain his motor skills and to walk.
It could be longer than a year before or even if he gets to go back to work.
March 1. Chad is having brain
surgery to reduce swelling and get a biopsy of the brain. It is believed he has nocardia bacteria.   Please keep giving.  The insurance payment is 1200/mo and 590/mo for sons meds.  Heather is out of work to be 200 miles from home with Chad.   We need generous prayer and giving.
21 days in ICU from flu complications.  First 12 days were spent in San Juan where he had been working.  He still has swelling of the brain and lesions and bacterial infections in brain and lungs    He is paralyzed  in his right leg and is very confused.  Chad will need inpatient rehab and insurance only covers seven days.  Please help us raise money for Chad to get rehab.
ARRIVED AT VANDERBILT  The news is grim.  After 12 days in San Juan with inadequate medical  care Infections galore and a full blown stroke which they called mini strokes with sepsis and both types of flu.   Yes in this country; not even a senator could help us; FEMA had no funding ; but you folks helped and it took seven days to get him to Vanderbilt.  He has brain damage
and a long road to recovery.
It is more urgent than ever to pray for Chad.  Please dear God heal him.   Please give generously so we can help save his home and help meet their finances and medical bills.

When I started this campaign I didn’t know Chad and Heather King.   I have come to realize how much they are loved by their hometown people.  Now that the air ambulance is covered I want to focus on raising money to help the family financially.   First of all Heather King works two jobs just to make ends meet.   Heather has taken in three children to raise and they are all 18 except the one she adopted.   There is also Issac;  the miracle baby they waited so long for.   He is a special needs child with meds that cost  $590 a month even with insurance.  The medical bills are mounting as I write this.
Chad had just returned to work and had been in Puerto Rico for ten weeks working on the grid.    He undoubtedly will be off work for a long period if not permanently.  We don’t confess that but it is the way the situation looks right now.
The hometown folks have made tons of five dollar donations to their bank account among others.  They are organizing and doing fundraisers.   I believe there is someone who can meet this total need and help take some of the burden off Heather and Chad. They are good people who have worked hard all their lives and given to others needs.  Please help them as you feel led.

ORIGINAL STORY
I don’t know this family personally but they are from my hometown in Tennessee.   His wife has approved my
gofundme compaign.  This is his story.
Chad King has been working to rebuild the grid in San Juan for 10 weeks. He is 37 yrs old married with two children.   This is an urgent situation.   Five days ago Chad came down with Type A and B flu.  He has pneumonia and meningitis and brain bleed.   He is in a coma and needs to be transferred to the USA.   He can only travel 3 1/2 hours by plane.
THIS IS URGENT.   It will cost approximately $30,000  to transfer him to a Florida hospital.   Not only will his insurance  not cover him in San Juan; the urgent need is medical care of top quality.   This is a matter of
grave urgency.   Your financial help and prayers are greatly appreciated.
