HB2 is a law in North Carolina that legalizes discrimination against the LGBTQ community. The law mandates that the bathroom used must be based on the gender stated on a person's birth certificate, not their gender identity. In other words, a trans woman would be forced by law to use the men's bathroom. This is unconscionable.
Our SAFE SPACE stickers are our way of protesting HB2 in a positive fashion, these stickers are meant to bring people together and provide a safe and welcoming space to all members of our communities. It is a movement in solidarity. Where you see the sign you belong and you know that you are supporting a business that values human rights and equality. This is also a super cool and exciting way for local businesses to form positive alliances and operate in solidarity against HB2.
