When Instructor Micah moved to North Richmond, CA he immediately noticed that the local children lacked access to many of the athletic programs other Bay Area children regularly enjoy. So, on May 21st 2016, with the help from Shields-Reid Community Center, Instructor Micah started a free Taekwondo program for Richmond, CA youth. This would not have been possible if it was not for the generous donations made by friends, family, and the taekwondo community.
Last year over 25 children benefited from funds donated! We have been asked by many of the children and their parents if we could provide more Taekwondo classes, and start a Kickboxing and Fitness program for teens and adults. In order to do this we will have to move from Shield-Reid Community Center. We have also been notified that Shields-Reid Community Center is struggling with staffing and funding by keeping the doors open for our Taekwondo program. So a move seems inevitable. Financially this is scary but, the community loves us and I know we can meet this years fundraising goal of $12,500!
We hope to make our fundraiser a wonderful yearly tradition that will ensure us the opportunity to continue enriching the lives of Richmond and North Richmond children through the teaching of Taekwondo. Your helpful donations are truly something to kick and kihap about!
What will my donation do?
$10 Gives one child a month of lessons
$25 Buys a child a uniform
$50 Buys sparring gear for one child
$75 Paints our future Dojang
$100 Pays for one month of HRKNR rent
$500 Mats half of our future Dojang
$1000 Pays for one year of customer service applications
$1500 Hires another TKD Instructor
$2000 Buys a computer, printer, etc..
