Jon's Houston Challenge

Jon has always been described as one with a magnetic personality. That brilliant smile of his lights up a room. Both his accessibility and warmth win you over immediately! Jon’s social and physical activities have slowed considerably since his tragic car accident on December 7, 2013, when he sustained a traumatic brain
injury and lay in a coma for three months. However, his upbeat attitude and unrelenting work ethic serve as positive influences on both friends and acquaintances alike.

Jon graduated from Athens Technical College and then moved to Charlotte, NC, where he graduate from Johnson & Wales University. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts & Foodservice Management and hopes to one day put that degree to use. Due to his brain injury, his short term memory loss plagues him daily. In addition to hobbies of adaptive sports, fishing, hunting and cooking, Jon has a passion for music…he is a talented writer, former guitar player and drummer
and looks forward to regaining use of his left hand to play once again. Jon also prays to independently walk again and to have clarity of speech...he still has a lot to say and wants to be understood!

Jon needs your help! He has been accepted into the Challenge Program at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas, one of the best rehabilitation programs in the country. He is scheduled to begin the program on March 7th... just a few weeks away. Needless to say, Jon
is pumped about the great opportunities offered to him by this excellent program to improve cognitively, physically and orally.

Jon desperately wants to improve his short term memory, walk again, use his dominate left arm to write, play the drums, play the guitar and to golf again and to speak with clarity! Please help him to attain these life changing goals.

With this great opportunity comes great needs...funding and housing! The program and housing will cost approximately $10,000.00. Equal to the funding need is the need for a place to live in Houston for Jon and his Caregiver. This seems huge, but if you adhere to Jon's
positive attitude and his favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me", then this is doable!

Jon thanks you for your love and generous support! God bless you!
