The Hope vs Cancer Foundation was founded to serve this most valued resource when afflicted with cancer. Anyone who has had a loved one undergo cancer treatment such as chemotherapy understands how emotionally and physically devastating the side effects can be.
Hope vs Cancer brings a new, innovative approach to help lift children’s spirits during these times while raising funds for children’s cancer research. Children are acutely aware of the changes to their appearance while undergoing treatment. Each glance by a passerby is a reminder.
In conjunction with Hope vs Cancer tattoo artists from around the world, Australia, Germany, England, Switzerland, and China are contributing their craft to ease this psychological pain and suffering.
Traditional tattoo artwork is a classic, iconic, and time-tested art medium. The tattoo community, world-wide is uniting with Hope vs Cancer to combat pediatric cancer and defeat this horrible disease.
The donated artwork is repurposed as temporary tattoos for the children. They are FDA approved for dermal contact, and specially made for children’s sensitive skin.
The children now understand people are admiring their cool tattoos. They no longer feel conspicuous, consider the change in the body language of this beautiful young lady.
A bit about pediatric cancer. Did you know:
• Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer, that’s 300,000 children every year.
• Pediatric cancer is the #1 disease killer of children under the age of 15.
• Childhood cancer is woefully underfunded, receiving only 3.8% of the National Cancer Institute’s annual budget.
• New medicines and treatments lag those developed for other types of cancer.
At Hope vs Cancer, our mission is clear, “Lifting children’s spirits during treatment and raising hope vs cancer through traditional tattoo artwork.”
While most children’s cancer programs, organizations, and charities either raise donations for research or lift children’s spirits while undergoing treatment, Hope vs Cancer operates with dual functionality, both lifting spirits and raising donations for research at the same time.
The 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit foundation uses traditional tattoo artwork as a medium for achieving both results.
Donations are tax deductible. 100% of donations go to cancer research. The director and staff are not compensated for their efforts.
