Hope for Hope. Save my life!

Hello!

My name is Nadezhda, which translates as “Hope” in Bulgarian. I am 35 years old. I am a mother of 2 wonderful kids. I am a daughter, a sister and a wife. In other words - just an ordinary person and as such I have an ordinary problem. More specifically, I was diagnosed with a serious oncological disease. I have colon cancer with progressive metastases in liver and lung. I have been fighting it for two years, two very difficult years.
I went through a few very complicated surgeries and 3 cycles of chemotherapy. I needed incredible motivation and strength to overcome their horrible consequences. Despair and pain were followed by courage and hope. I fought panic attacks and discomfort with faith and love. I fought for my life and with my life at the same time. One of the things that kept me going is the desire to be a good mother and a good example for my kids. As a single mum, this is not easy.

I had to be very careful in everyday contact with my children because my immunity was weakened. Even the smallest virus was sending me to hospital. I had a horrible rash for months, I lost my hair, I had hyper sensitivity to cold (I wasn’t even able to open the fridge), nausea, dizziness, fatigue.

At the end of the day I had no choice. I had to adapt to the side effects and continue my life.

I haven’t stopped going to work, meeting my friends, taking care of the house and the kids. I haven’t stopped living. I haven’t stopped fighting. Because there’s always meaning in life.
Thanks to the love and support of my husband, family and my friends I succeeded in passing through the most difficult parts. The surgery was successful and the main part of the tumor was removed.
However, there were metastases left in my liver and lungs. Despite all chemos they were growing bigger and stronger.

The bad news is that there are no more options for treatment in the local hospital in UK.
Fortunately, there is still Hope for a cure abroad. Unfortunately, it is too expensive and well above what I can afford. I need 78.000£ for specific chemotherapy with molecular therapy and surgery in Istanbul, Turkey.

Everything that depends on me doesn’t worry me, no matter what it is, but now I am dependent on the help and charity of others. It is difficult for me to ask for help, but I have no other choice.
All my life I have been an independent woman who has provided for her family, but now I need to ask for help.
I am in need of help to fight for my life, primarily because I am a mother. I cannot be irresponsible towards my kids or lose faith in God by giving up. I shouldn’t lose hope, because my name is Hope (Nadezhda), right?

This reminds me of a poem by Gianni Rodari:

And to all the folk

to whom life is hard

I’d give all my hope

free of charge.

And now I need to gather hope from all of you. I am grateful beyond words. I am grateful for every penny of hope with every beat of my heart.
Please spread the word. I understand that not everyone will be able to donate,  but even if you can't, I would be so grateful if you could share this with as many people as possible.

Sincerely yours,

Hope
