There is much joy and anticipation when a child is born and for these new parents (Adi and Cristina Dragomir) the news they will have a baby girl was no exception, in spite of the difficult news about her expected health they received during the pregnancy. Abigail was born in Romania earlier this year (January 2) with Gastroschisis (a birth defect of the belly, where the baby's intestines are found outside of the baby's body). She had two operations at birth to repair this and was in intensive care for a month after which she was released home. The stay home was cut short two weeks later, when Abigail developed high fever. She was hospitalized again and initial blood work indicated that she had a rotavirus infection but later on was revealed she had a Klebsiella infection (an antibacterial resistant and potent strain of bacteria). From the first day of being hospitalized, Abigail has been on a downward spiral. Over three weeks she went from 8lbs down to 6lbs. She had an additional operation March 22 to repair the damage done by the severe infection to her intestines and another operation on March 26. At the moment Abigail is still in critical care due to the sepsis. Her parents Adi and Cristina are there at her side and all of us are desperately praying for her miraculous healing. God holds Abigail’s future in His hands and we trust His promises: Isaiah 43:  “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.  3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;” If you have it in your heart to help, here are some things you can do: Pray: ·        For sweet little Abigail, for her complete healing ·        For strength in body, mind and heart for her parents as they go through this heart wrenching time in their life ·        For the doctors and nurses attending to Abigail, that they may know what to do Give: Anyone in such life circumstances is facing great emotional, physical and financial difficulties. The goal here is to help Adi and Cristina cover their basic living and medical costs as they focus on getting the best care for Abigail and being at her side. If you are able to contribute with any amount, this will help them tremendously.   We warmly Thank You for being part of the extended community Adi and Cristian can lean on and for expressing your love through taking the time to read this and offer your support. In acest moment Abigail este in continuare in stare foarte gravă din cauza septicemiei.

Dear friends following Abi's story, great news:

Abi is finally well enough that her parents were able to take her home this week!
Thank you again for your prayers and financial support! You have been alongside this young family as they have walked through a very difficult time in their lives. I'm beyond grateful that God has healed Abi and has given her another chance at life!

" Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24

For those still following Abigail's story and praying for her, here's an update:

The best news is that the sepsis is no longer in her blood! It's still in her stomach and intestines but not in her whole body! Also, over the last week and a half they have been feeding Abi mostly through a tube to try to help her gain weight. Since she has gained a little bit of weight, they recently removed the tube and reverted back to feeding her with a bottle.

Thank you for lifting her up in your prayers! Your help and words of encouragement have made all the difference in her family's life as they are going though this. Adi and Cristina Dragomir thank you from the bottom of their hearts!

This week I received another video of little Abi ( https://youtu.be/IqfA-LHDrFk ) and a few updates:
* She has been moved from intensive care to a regular hospital room.
* She is still on antibiotics, as her body isn't able to handle the ongoing infection without them.
* She's eating about 10-20 ml (a little over a tablespoon) of milk every 2 hrs and has BM.
We are still praying that the infection will be gone soon and that the amount she can eat will increase to the point where she can gain weight and strength to fight off the sepsis.
