Honoring Fanuel's life

A fund to honor the life and passions of Fanuel Asrat!
Fanuel Shewarega Asrat, a close friend of mine suddenly passed away on June 29, 2017. He drowned in a river while swimming in Fargo ND. Fanuel just finished his last class to complete his degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead the day before his sudden death. His body was recovered on July 1, 2017, three days after he was missing. His close college and family friends are in the process sending his body to his family in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Fanuel was a role model for many International students around him. He was known for his hard work and patience through the many struggles of being international student in the United States. He was a great example of perseverance! He was full of ambitions and always dreamed of making change in lives of underprivileged people around the world but gone too soon.
We (his friends) are raising this fund to support Fanuel’s family following the tragic loss of their beloved son. His family had to get into many financial responsibilities to support their son’s education in the United States. The fund will be sent to his parents in Ethiopia.
