Honoring Ariel Pietsch

$8,190 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 142 people in 3 months
As you all have heard, sweet Ariel went home to be with Our Lord as a result of an unexpected and sudden illness.

This has turned Jennifer's world upside down. We want to ease even the smallest burdens in any way that we can while she grieves. It's important for you all to know, Jennifer was not in anyway behind the idea of starting this fund. It was only after dozens of community members and friends reached out repeatedly asking what they can do, how they can help, where they can send money, that we convinced her to allow us to do this for her.

Please know that any funds donated by your kind hearts will be used for the following, and in the following order:

Initial costs no one is prepared for:
She may incur medical expenses that aren't covered by insurance, but also hotels, food, gas and any costs that may be associated with upcoming services. Additionally, she bought a last minute plane ticket to get her oldest daughter home from California to see her sick sister. With this tragic turn, she now hopes to be able to fly her back here at a later date for services.

Day-to-Day family expenses:
We want Jennifer to take whatever time off work she is able without worrying for one second about paying her household bills.

Memories for her little brother in honor of Ariel:
Jennifer has always put memory-making at the forefront of her parenting and in fact just recently sat with her two kids and made an adventure list. We'd like her to be able to fulfill those wishes in Ariel's honor with her son Jaxon.

Jaxon's future - something Ariel cared deeply about:
When the opportunity to adopt her little brother arose and she talked with Ariel,  she told Jennifer, "Save Jaxon like you saved me." With her sweet words in mind, for Jaxon to have the bright future filled with love Ariel wanted for him, anything that surpasses goal or is left over from her expenses will be put toward his future.

Jennifer also wanted everyone to know that the hospital and the Child Life organization was amazing with Ariel and to the family.  Here is a link if anyone feels compelled to donate directly to them in Ariel's honor:
Please also remember there is an account set up at Peninsula Federal Credit Union if you prefer that method of donation.

We thank you sincerely for anything at all you can contribute to supporting Jennifer and her family through their enormous grief.

Hi everyone! I just spoke with Jennifer and she is absolutely overwhelmed at the generosity and love her family has received.

I've shared all of the comments, donations and details with her because she wants to personally thank each and every one of you. She feels bad that she hasn't been able to do so before now, but we all know everyone navigates grief at their own pace, in their own way. I assured her we understand and have expected nothing from her through this process.

Now that she's ready to take this step, I have a favor to ask each of you. Since she prefers sending a personal note rather than writing you an email, she needs everyone's mailing addresses.

The information we receive when someone donates is your email address and zip code, so to expedite the research process, I'm asking if you'll please send your name and mailing address to the following email:

If you'd rather not for any reason, that is fine; you'll be getting your note from Jennifer via email instead. Let's all help her get this done as it is very important to her that she acknowledge each and every one of you and the impact you've had on her family at a time when she needed it most.

Thank you - love to all!

Hi everyone - I'm happy to write this update for numerous reasons, not only because of the tremendous response by this community, but also because I can say that donations through this amazing platform are as protected as they can be!

Because I organized this campaign on behalf of Jen, GFM has asked that I post this update to describe how I am related to her, explain that I am the one withdrawing the funds on her behalf and of course what I am doing with them.

So to the first, I'm not related, I'm simply a friend; a friend who has loved and cared about her very deeply for many years. As for the funds, they are being transferred into my account, and I am writing checks for those exact amounts into the Peninsula Federal account set up in her name. From there, they will be solely hers to decide what to do with, at her discretion and her complete control, but will absolutely adhere to the guidelines we set forth in this campaign.

On behalf of Jen, her family, her friends - we thank you so very sincerely for your generous donations that are allowing her to focus on the important things right now: her son, her healing and honoring her beautiful daughter, Ariel Pietsch.

Many have been concerned that hitting goal would end the campaign so to lessen confusion I will increase the goal as we go. Thank you all again for your generosity and love ❤️

My heart is bursting at the generosity of this community. I did not have any clue what to set up as a goal since there are two ways to donate to Jennifer's family: this and at the bank.

Please don't let the fact that we're closing in on goal dissuade you from donating. The $5,000 is an arbitrary number - my hope is that we will continue well beyond that, as every dollar will be well-used by this grieving family ❤️
