Amanda Korbas and Anna Wilson were the best of friends.  They were classmates at the University of California San Diego and both were due to graduate this June.  They had their entire lives ahead of them.  They loved to laugh and dance.

On Wednesday March 28th, the two friends were having the time of their lives in Puerto Penasco Mexico when they were involved in a tragic traffic accident and they both were taken to heaven.

The accident while tragic was not was not caused by drunk driving nor reckless driving.  It was mainly the result of a widely acknowledged, very dangerous, poorly lighted and designed stretch of road.

We are in contact with the Consular staff in Puerto Penasco and a local community council made up of Mexican and American citizens to see what can be done to improve the signage, lighting and overall safety of this particularly dangerous stretch of road so as to help prevent any further tragedies there.

We plan on using any monies raised here to work with these groups and the local government to install said signage and cautionary lighting there.  Any donations big or small would be greatly appreciated.

If for whatever reasons the funds raised cannot be used for this purpose, we would plan on donating the proceeds to the Make a Wish foundation, Amanda’s favorite charity.

God bless you all, vaya con Dios

Hey All! Just returned from Rocky Point for the one year anniversary commemoration of the accident. The city erected a plaque to the girls and in gratitude of the improvements made on the roadway. Big turnout from the city, the fire department, the paramedics, the police department and all the others who have been invaluable in our efforts, specifically Beverly Arrowood, the US Consular Warden there in Rocky Point. We sat around the table and discussed other efforts we can do to improve other traffic safety issues to help not only the citizens of Puerto Penasco but of course the US tourists.

Again, none of this could have been done without your selfless donations and support. We of course will keep you posted on these efforts. Much love and gratitude from all of us to you and yours.

Sincerely, Tony Korbas

So friends and family, we are coming up on the one year anniversary of the tragic accident that claimed the lives of both Amanda and Anna. Kevin Wilson and members of his family along with my Mom and I are traveling down to Rocky Point for that. The Mayor and the US Consular staff are planning a ceremony at the crash site. We couldn’t have made the changes to this dangerous section of roadway without all your help, again we are deeply humbled by the outpouring of love and support and the most generous donations from all of you.

A few weeks ago a driver hit the street light and knocked it down, it has since been fixed and replaced. Steel I-Beams were put up to protect it, and it only took a few days after that for another driver to hit those. Crazy Crazy!!!

Love to all of you!!!

Tony, Crystal, Alex, and our Angel Amanda

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and will have a very happy 2019. Of course we will be happy to see 2018 in our rear view mirrors, hardest year of our lives.

The flashing lights have been installed in Puerto Penasco, so that is all of our’s gift to Amanda and Anna.

Again, thank you so much for your help with this labor of love. We appreciate each and everyone of you and your selfless gifts to help us accomplish this.

Love to you and your’s

The entire Korbas and Wilson Families.
