Funding for The Homo Philes Podcast

Hi! We're Rae, Janet, and Madde, three queer & trans folks who are putting together a podcast where we read and discuss 20th century homoerotica. It's a lot of fun to put this together in our spare time, and we’re getting really excited to share this project with the podcasting world.
We’d really like to have other friends join us as guests, but not everyone has the same amount of free time to dedicate to giggling about queer sex in a podcast. Intersecting socio-economic factors affect the queer community unevenly, giving some of us the ability to work on this absurd and (homo)sexually-explicit audio hobby, and making it harder for others, particularly trans women, trans feminine folks, and people of colour. Our aim is to increase the representation of trans women, trans feminine folks and people of colour by broadcasting their voices (literally - it’s a podcast!)
This podcast is self-published and we don't have any sponsors. Between the three of us, our access to cash is somewhat limited. We'd like to be able to offer fair compensation to our friends who’d like to participate in the podcast, but who don’t have the time to commit free labour. Here’s how we’ll use the money from this fundraiser:
- Compensating the LGBTQ composer of our theme music
- Compensating the LGBTQ artist who will design our artwork/logo
- Offering compensation for POC, trans women, and trans feminine folks who would like to appear on the podcast
We’ve already begun recording the first few episodes, so as a bit of an incentive please enjoy this teaser trailer featuring our first book, “Getting the Shaft” by Vic Blake. We hope it whets your appetite.
