Help for Injured firefighter

Donation protected

On October 12 2015, my husband Chris was working with the Kansas City Fire Department's pumper 23, at an arson fire on Independence Ave. While performing his duties, the 3 story brick building suffered a catastrophic collapse. During this collapse Chris and 3 fellow firefighters were crushed by 4 feet of exploding debris. Two of his brothers suffered fatal injuries, and one firefighter has been working toward fully returning to his position with the KCFD. Chris suffered multiple fractured ribs, traumatic brain injury, abdominal trauma causing erosive ulcers, multiple muscular tears and sprains, knee damage requiring surgical repair, ankle damage, and many other physical and emotional injuries. His pay was cut significantly  and the inability to work his regular part time job has impacted the family tremendously. Now, due to the severity of his injuries and the long term effects, Chris is unable to return to his duties as a firefighter. His disability pension will only be 62 1/2 percent of his base monthly pay. This leaves very little for supporting a family of 4, let alone keeping a house in good condition. Chris is the sole supporter of our family,  and this past year has been extremely painful, in many ways. He is always the first to step up to help others, and now is having trouble making ends meet. Any donations will go to our bank account to assist with paying everyday expenses, home and vehicle repairs, and several medical expenses for our family.
Thank you to anyone who is able to contribute.
