I am standing in the next local election because I, along with many others, believe we could be better represented.
All of us can benefit off the back of who we elect to our local council. With an annual budget of 300m It delivers on the bread and butter services in our community like:
Economic Development
Environmental Services
Tourism
Farmers Markets
Community Development
Arts & Heritage
Fire Services
Housing
Planning
Roads
Our local council members and the decisions they make shape the environment we live in today, in every way.
By preserving and building our industries; tourism, the fisheries and farming as well as supporting those who work remotely, we can enhance our local economy and provide meaningful employment for people who wish to stay living in West Cork, or indeed, return home.
I believe an environmental perspective is a fundamental one in a council like West Cork's as all of our industries rely on our environment to exist and thrive.
The next local election is only 7 months away. Between now and then I will be canvassing for your support and vote. Unfortunately this involves getting lots of merch with my ramblings and face all over it, which is why I am asking you all to go away and fund me the price of a pint for my birthday! This will make a huge difference to our campaign as it would buy half a poster or a handful of canvass cards or leaflets.
