Hollins' Victims of Violent Crime

My daughter, Angela Hollins, and her sons, Corbin (12) and Miles (10), find themselves in a very difficult situation. Angela's health has been declining for many months, and after multiple tests with a variety of specialists, she still hasn't received a diagnosis.  She has not been able to work since the beginning of September 2016.   She has already put in an application for Social Services benefits, but there are delays in the processing.

 

Then, on November 20th, 2016, just before Thanksgiving, her ex-husband, Kevin Hollins, was shot and killed.  Already with limited financial resources, she now finds herself behind on rent, with mounting bills, and $150.00 in the bank.  Obviously, there is no more support available from Kevin.  Additionally, she can't obtain Social Security benefits for the boys without a copy of the death certificate, which may take 6 to 8 weeks to obtain, due to the nature of Kevin's death.  Not only is his death a devastating event for her and the boys, it's become a financial emergency.  As such, her need is immediate.

 

The money donated on Angela's behalf will be used to get caught up with current living expenses until she can catch her breath and otherwise get back on her feet.   There are also plans afoot to relocate, closer to other family members who want to help her and the boys move forward from the terrible tragedy that has befallen their family.

 

During this difficult time, I have been deeply moved by the kindness of the numerous strangers I have received during my urgent flight from California to Missouri to be with my daughter and her boys.  In spite of the violence done to my ex-son-in-law, I'm sustained by the knowledge of the basic goodness of most people. I'm humbly grateful for the generosity of spirit I've encountered, and I thank each and every one of you for reading this request.
