Hello,
As I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, there was a shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas yesterday. It is very close to Floresville, where my parents live and where I went to high school. This morning I found out that one my good friends from high school, with whom I am still very good friends, she lost a lot of her family in yesterday’s shooting.
Several years ago, her oldest brother passed away from cancer when we were still in high school. He left behind a wife and four children. A few years ago, happily, my friend’s sister-in-law remarried and was expecting her first child with her new husband! Unfortunately she and the unborn baby, 2 nieces of 3, one nephew and several members on the husband’s side of the family were killed making 9 total. One niece made it out alive, but she is currently in the hospital recovering from a nasty bump on the head.
I wanted to raise some money to help my friend’s family, for whatever personal needs they may have and to use however they see fit. Also, check out relief efforts for the community of Sutherland Springs, TX as many people were killed and injured at the church. As more events and links become available, I'll update this page.
