Hokie Gajan's Medical Treatment

Donation protected
Hokie Gajan is facing a fight with cancer and needs help to fund the rising medical bills. It has been a strain not only on his personal life but his financial ability as well.  Hokie is a close friend of ours and we have set up this page to offer him as much support as possible.  Any donations however large or small are greatly appreciated.

After playing at LSU, Hokie was a Saints running back from 1982 to 1985, rushing for 1,358 yards, catching 63 passes, and scoring 11 touchdowns. It took a toll on his body, and he has coped with severe, painful arthritis for years, and now he faces cancer.  Hokie said cancer killed his father, but noted the advancements in medicine in recent years.

"I'm scared, I'm nervous, certainly uncertain, but I can promise you this, you know I'm not going to sit around here now and mope about it," Hokie said. "Number one, because I don't really know where this thing is heading.

Hokie has been diagnosed with Liposarcoma, which is a rare type of cancer that begins in the fat cells. Liposarcoma is considered a type of soft tissue sarcoma.  Liposarcomas can occur in fat cells in any part of the body, but most occur in the muscles of the limbs or in the abdomen. Liposarcoma occurs most often in older adults, though it can occur at any age.

Hokie is facing multiple treatments including surgery and radiation.  Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to make a donation please send a prayer our way.  Thank you!
