I started Reparations PAC, a non-profit political action committee, in 2012. Our mission is to support legislation and education about compensation for descendants of American slavery, known as reparations. Currently we are supporting Congressman John Conyers' HR 40 legislation by means of online petition and social media support. HR 40 calls for a study to be done addressing the present-day ill-effects of slavery on African-Americans and recommendations to be made for further action.
Reparations PAC has just been accepted for participation in the Hive Global Leaders Program in Los Angeles on December 8-11, Here is a review of the program from hive.org:

I am seeking funds to cover the program's tuition for Reparations PAC, my lodging for four nights and airfare from the NYC area to Los Angeles.
