History, Hoops, and Hope

Purpose:
I am raising money for the special opportunity to join a group of student-athletes and adults from several countries on a service and growth trip to South Africa March of 2016.
Background Information: My name is LeeAnn Stephenson and this will be my first trip to Africa; a life-long dream. While we are in Africa, we will spend time during our 10-day journey teaching basketball and leadership skills to native children from the townships with the organization Hoops for Hope. Also included on this trip are "Cultural Growth" days where we will spend time exposing ourselves to various cultural and historical venues such as the Nelson Mandela prison on Robbin Island, as well as, participate in community dinners with locals to foster discussions around culture, race, and equality.
I feel deeply passionate about serving others, and using the gifts God has blessed me with to benefit others. I am humbled to be able to continue to serve others through the game that I love while embracing the African culture and learning about my history with other leaders from all walks of life.
This experience is an opportunity of a lifetime and can become possible with your help! If you are compelled to donate, I would be immensely grateful for any contribution of your choice. If you are not inclined to donate or incapable at this time, please just share the link to spread the word.
