Historians Podcast reaches the 200 episode mark

With the debut of an interview with Tompkins County N.Y. and Cornell University historian Carol Kammen on February 2, Bob Cudmore’s Historians Podcast has reached the 200 episode mark.

Cudmore is a veteran broadcaster who writes the weekly Focus on History column for the Daily Gazette. He is the author of three history books focusing on Montgomery and Fulton counties.

The first interview in the weekly Historians Podcast series was with Montgomery County Historian Kelly Yacobucci Farquhar in February, 2014.

Since then Cudmore has interviewed history and historical fiction authors such as Christina Baker Kline (Orphan Train), Richard Norton Smith (Nelson Rockefeller) and David Garrow (Barack Obama).

Many guests have been from the Mohawk Valley, Capital Region and elsewhere in New York State. The podcast has spotlighted musical guests such as Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle with songs of the Erie Canal and The Lost Radio Rounders (Tom Lindsay and Michael Eck). Some programs were recorded on location at the yearly American Revolution in the Mohawk Valley Conference, the Greens Corners School in Glenville. Amsterdam Free Library and the Chronicle Book Fair in Glens Falls.

Dave Greene of Eastline Studio is producer of The Historians Podcast. The program can be heard and downloaded on bobcudmore.com, Soundcloud (search Eastline Studio), Apple iTunes and Google Play. The podcasts are also heard on RISE, the radio service for the blind operated by WMHT Educational Communications. Each episode is promoted statewide with a post on New York History Blog.

The podcast is financially supported by a Go Fund Me campaign, gofundme.com/historians2018 A check made out to Bob Cudmore also may be mailed to 125 Horstman Drive, Scotia, N.Y. 12302
