There is an African proverb that states what women know to be true. "When you educate a man, you educate an individual. But, if you educate a girl, you educate a nation."  As a young girl, I grew up hoping to be the leader of a movement that educates women.  My vocation is to lift the nation.  My childhood dream has come true. I have created Hope Institute of Science (H.I.S.) School for Girls.  H.I.S. is a God centered private school for girls in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. The dream will perish like a rose choked by weeds without the help of supporters.  My name is Phaedra L. Brown and I had a vision in 2008 to start a school. I began planning for H.I.S. School. The vision has now come to pass. The school has accomplished many goals needed to pass state inspection at the end of October; however, there have been financial strains that caused completion of the building to come to a hault. Mid-November 2016 is the anticipated month of opening, and H.I.S. School would like to have all finishing touches completed by this time so it is prepared to receive little girls in a safe environment. Any help that you or your organization can give will be greatly appreciated. H.I.S.
