Hiro and his girlfriend Juana were in a bad accident on November 24, 2016. Very tragicly Juana did not make it and Hiro was seroiusly injured.

He is currently in an induced medical coma for recovery and had several serious injuries. It is looking positive however the medical bills will no doubt be extreme and we don't know what sort of medical coverage he has. In addition the traveling expenses of his family coming in from Japan last minute will be high.

For these reasons, we wanted to set up an account where people could donate money which would go directly to these associated costs.

Please give whatever you can and stay tuned for an up coming benefit concert and event to help alleviate the financial pressure during this tragic and trying time.

Thank you in advance to everyone for your help and to the great music community and everyone who has shown an ourpouring of support.

Hey Everyone,

We wanted to let you know we will be taking down the fundraiser in the next day as we feel we have raised a great amount for Hiro and want to work to process these funds towards his recovery.

To each and every single one of you who gave, we truly want to give the most sincere thanks. Hiro has gone through an incredibly traumatic and life changing experience, the community support throughout though has made a real difference.

As those of us who were there this past Friday at Kings, he is humbled and grateful to all of you for your efforts. Hiro is back on the guitar and getting his original chops back day by day, it'll be a long full recovery.

These sort of tragedies happen in our lives and we can never plan or prepare for them. The support this community has given Hiro and showed everyone involved however has been incredible.

From Hiro, myself, and Hank... thank you so much. Your actions were not only truly beneficial to his recovery but showed what a powerful force people working together can be.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you'd like to see Hiro sometime soon and hear his musical recovery, he will be playing at the Raleigh Times for Beer & Banjos the next few Tuesday evenings before eventually returning to Japan to recover more. Hiro does plan to return back to school in the fall and we wish him the best with his eventual recovery.

Thank you!

Hey Everyone..

I wanted to give an update as I know some of you are likely curious. First off, Hiro is conscious and his condition is improving by the day. We are hoping he may even be released here in the next few weeks, which is GREAT news. He is at WakeMed Raleigh Campus is located at 3000 New Bern Ave. in Raleigh. His room number is 2CO3. To get there, you might ask someone where the gift shop is, and from there take the elevators across the hall up to the second floor and you can ask for Hiroshi's room at the nurses' station. His visiting hours are 4-8PM. Best to keep number of visitors in the 1-2 range. He usually eats dinner between 5-6 usually. Please keep in mind he is in the healing process, still not back to his normal self, and obviously exhausted by everything he has been through.
Unfortunately our January 6 Fundraiser was cancelled last week due to winter weather. However, we have reschedule the event for February 10th at Kings (same venue) with the original lineup and even more. We still hope you can join us. We are in the process of taking all the funds collected and putting them into a payment we can process for Hiro to go towards all his medical expenses from the accident. We will notify folks when we do, due to the expanse of time since we started the campaign, the gofundme is currently not accepting donations. We hope to get this back up and accepting and will notify people when we are taking it down. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to reach out and thank you again for all the continued support.

Hey Everyone,

I'm sorry we haven't been updating this as often, but for weeks there wasn't much news to report. However this has changed, for the better!

Hiro is now more or less conscious and responsive. He still has a trachea tube in, and cannot talk and visits are not really allowed quite yet to ensure he continues healing. HOWEVER, this is HUGE news and he will soon be moving to a rehab room and we are optimistic that he is on the tail end of his recovery. Hiro even held a guitar for the first time in over a month yesterday, though he won't be performing live quite yet..
We are extremely excited to see this recovery happening but please remember this will still be a long process and we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We are hopeful though that he may be released in the month of January and back to his normal self shortly after. Please remember this will be a very difficult time for him though through physical and emotional recovery, so lets all be very patient.
We will be holding our last foreseeable benefit concert January 6th at Kings in Downtown Raleigh (next Friday) for Hiro with several regional musical acts. It is my intention to close this GoFundMe after the concert, and let it run through that show. I am planning at that point to transfer this into Hiro's name so that he can use these funds as they were intended, for his rising medical expenses. Please, PLEASE share the word as we have done great work but there is still a long long way to go... Hiro has been in the hospital over a month and I can't even imagine all the related costs and rehab bills he will face shortly.

Again, things are looking up for Hiro and this is the best news we have had in weeks. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and thank you so much.

All the best,

Craig
