High School Robotics Team

Thank you so much to the people and organizations who have already donated to our GoFundMe campaign! Your donations have benefited our team immensley. The funds allowed us to purchase a new team trailer so we could transport our robot and tools to events, an ability which was critical to our participation in this years competition. The money also aided us in hitting our $30,000 budget.
We are a high school robotics team, FRC 4643 Thunderbird Robotics, that has members from many different high schools in Butte County, CA. We don’t receive funding through the school districts so we are tasked to raise funds every year in order to build our competition robot, entry fees and travel to tournaments, pay for tools and equipment, etc. We compete in FIRST competitions (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), which are held on a national and worldwide level. Thunderbird Robotics has been an established team for 6 years and are excited to be in the middle of our 5th FRC season now!!
Thunderbird Robotics teaches students STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), business methods, how to be good team members, and how to become effective team leaders. Our students learn how to do CAD design, fabrication, electrical, pnuematics, programming, website design, time management, and more. We learn through active participation and hands on experiences by championing the FIRST tenants of Coopertition and Gracious Professionalism. Through this process we learn to partake in community service and outreach to keep our team alive. Our students have the opportunity of getting scholarships ($30 Million available through FIRST), which will help propel their furture carriers.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help us transition to a more independent setting. We are moving shop location from the school which we are currently located at and are not able to take critical equipment with us. Raising this money will give us the opportunity to equip a new location with replacements for lost equipment so we may continue to design and build amazing robots.
