Dear friends and supporters,

What a week. A few days ago the results of Australia’s postal survey on marriage equality were announced. The majority of Australians voted "YES" in support of marriage equality. I wanted to thank you for all your support in getting us to this point.

We didn’t want this survey and we really appreciated your support in trying to prevent it.

Fortunately, we achieved the resounding result which polling had been reflecting for many years.

Now parliament must deliver on legislative equality without the government subjecting LGBTI Australians to more heartbreak and delay.

Opponents of equality want to slow momentum by tabling amendments that would create new ways to discriminate against LGBT Australians. We are at another critical moment.

The people of Australia have spoken for equality, not new prejudice.

The Parliament has a duty to deliver on the results of the massively expensive postal survey. If thousands of us speak out, we can make sure they stick to their word and give ALL of us the right to marry who we love as soon as possible.

Please join us in sending a message to parliament to get this done right. You can do so here: www.equal.org.au/equalmeansequal

Thank you so much everyone. This has been such an amazing response.  Rodney, Shelley and Felicity feel so encouraged by both your contributions and the show of support.

We know that the High Court challenge will cost tens of thousands of dollars in lodgement and legal costs, plus the cost to get our plaintiffs & legal team to Canberra.

We have updated our target to $30,000 and all funds will be used to support this campaign.  Thanks so much for your support!
