Helping Haven

Hi, this is Mark and I am asking folks to help my wonderful and talented long-time friend Haven to fund a surgery... specifically a biopsy and surgical excision of a mass in the abdomen.

A few months ago Haven noticed a swelling in her abdomen area. It became more difficult to bear over time and now after some tests and a mounting medical bill, it is being diagnosed as an abdominal tumor... most likely benign, but a biopsy will be necessary.

The tumor is growing and the pain in Haven's abdomen is increasing each day. And the added stress and worry of needing an immediate surgery and not being sure you can afford it... that's a less shocking but no less hurtful sort of pain.

So I am trying to raise just enough to cover the cost of surgery plus a little bit to cover her basic expenses for the few weeks  that she won't be able to work.

Haven has been there for me many times when I needed it. Her friends know how fun and generous she is... let's help her out. She needs us now.

Thanks,
Mark

Hello Haven's Friends...
Mark here. Time for an update on Haven's situation...

First I am required to notify you that Haven has elected to have donation funds managed by me, Mark Cort... so I will simply be transferring 100% of donations as they come in directly to Haven.

Also there are new developments in her diagnosis and plan for treatment.

There is a biopsy scheduled for July 15th, and the surgery I mentioned in the original summary for this campaign has been postponed til the results of the biopsy can determine what next treatment will be best.

I am sad to say that Haven's doctors now are saying they suspect the tumor in her abdomen may be cancer.

Haven wanted to speak to you all personally so the following is directly from her:
---------------------------------------

Hello Sweet Friends...

I wanted to update everyone on my new care plan and be transparent about my situation.

Although I will not have my biopsy until the 15th of July the doctors advised me after many tests that they feel this is cancer.

I have had my first appointment with an oncology surgeon at the cancer center.
This is a difficult time of limbo while waiting to find out what direction my life will take. One of my concerns is that I will have a longer road ahead than I first anticipated.

I’m already unable to work because of the pain in my abdomen. I’m really hoping to raise funds for many things like unforeseen treatments and alternative medicine. All of this has come at a difficult time of transition in my life and lm also hoping to secure housing for me and Frank.

I’m currently living in my camper and that is fine for now but I’m hoping to not be there during the more severe part of my healing process. It is very difficult to ask for help but I need my community now more than ever. I want to thank all of my friends and family for the support.
