HexenMama Relief Fund

Ok. I've never, ever in my life asked for anything or set up any kind of donation fund so this is kind of awkward and feels weird. However, my family (and most importantly, my mom) is at a vulnerable and critical point in time.

Without getting too deeply personal, I'll try my best to lay everything out on the table. Last year in January, my mom's husband of 30 years left her. It's important to note she is disabled with fybromyalgia and degenerative spinal discs, and has been unable to work for the past 12 years. Her husband was her source of support this entire time, even though she never was able to receive the medical care she required.

Fast forward to last week:

The power at her house was abruptly cut off without warning after her husband decided to stop supporting her entirely in any capacity. My brother and I scrambled to put together a plan to acquire a generator to keep her fish alive and food unspoiled. We were successful in that regard, but unfortunately met with the news that since my mom never had the utilities in her name, the power company was going to charge a $300 deposit/reconnection fee to get it back. We still haven't done that yet.

Other than this immediate emergency, she has been plagued with several extreme hardships that we have tried and failed to remedy. Her AC has not been working for 2 years, and we live in the Gulf Coast area of the southern United States. Anyone that has ever been here can tell you how humid and hot it gets. Living without AC has compounded her health problems even further. We need to replace the entire unit and conservative estimates for a used one run into a price range that is unfeasible for any of us.

Beyond this, she also has absolutely no idea how she is going to pay the rest of her mortgage (which if there is any silver lining at all, it will be paid up by the end of this year IF we can make the payments).

To top it all off, the day her power was cut off we discovered an aural hematoma on one of her dogs. I already paid to take him to the vet since it was an absolute health emergency, but he needs further surgery which none of us can afford.

I don't want my mom to suffer and I am powerless to stop any of this, beyond asking for help. This is the very last thing I want to do, but my pride should not be the reason that stops my mom from getting help.

Any help whatsoever will mean absolutely everything to her, to me and to my entire family. Thank you so much for reading this and for all of your support.
