Hemingway's Bone Operation

Hi my name is Hemingway,
The other night my best friend, Gunnar, and I were in the in the house and one of our owners opened the front door. Gunnar, being very playful ran out the door! Can you believe it? He couldn't be the only having fun so I chased after him, but we live by a busy street and before I knew it, I was running into that street and getting hit by the car. 
I didn't see the car and my owner's sister was so busy tending to me that she didn't get the licence plate of the car as it drove a way. I think that's called a hit and run and it's pretty shady if you ask me.
Anyways, I'm in desperate need for a bone surgery. Both bones in my upper left leg are broken and if I don't get it fixed, well, bad things can happen.
My owner doesn't have funds to cover the thousdands of dollar surgery so I'm asking if you can help. Any little thing will do and I'll be eternally grateful.
If you can help, my owner will surely provide you with something! Maybe a short story or a piece of his work! He's an artist, ya know!
