Help Walton Family Fight Chronic Lyme Disease

Sarah has found a promising treatment for the debilitating chronic form of Lyme Disease that she and her children have been battling for the past number of years and it is right here in the Chicagoland area! But she needs our help! Many who know and love Sarah and her precious family have sought ways to help them practically and prayed fervently for the Lord to direct their path to a healing solution for Sarah and for each member of the Walton family suffering with the effects of Lyme Disease.   Many of us are eager to get behind this family in the tangible way of raising the funds for Sarah's treatment which is cost prohibitive for their family at this time.

Please consider giving a gift of any size to cover the cost of the treatment for Sarah which is scheduled to begin on October 15th.

Thank you so very much for every donation no matter how large or small!  And please help get the word out by sharing my link to your Facebook Timeline!

Below Sarah tells her story for anyone reading this that is not familiar with her family's struggle with Chronic Lyme Disease:

"It’s been over ten years since the normal trials of life became all consuming and disorienting for our family. Though I (Sarah) have been sick for most of my life with unidentifiable problems, it wasn’t until our first child was born that we began down a road we never expected. Over the course of a couple of years, severe behavioral/neurological behaviors began to emerge in our son in ways that seemed to threaten our very ability to care for him. A multitude of doctors were unable to offer answers, while growing financial burdens placed increasing strain on our family.

Meanwhile, my own health deteriorated until it reached a point that I could barely function. In addition to our oldest son's struggles, we saw each of our four children growing sicker in various ways.  In time I was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease, which I had unknowingly passed on to each of our children. This had led to neurological problems, joint pain, stomach pain, anxiety, short-term memory issues, night terrors, etc. As a mom, trying to care for 4 children with constant discomforts and high needs, it has felt overwhelming, especially as I struggle with my own extreme fatigue, discomfort, digestive issues, and neurological challenges each day.

The most discouraging thing about this disease is that most treatments and doctors are not covered by insurance. Thus, we have spent tens of thousands of dollars each year out of pocket, going from doctor to doctor, and often feeling as though we’re making little measurable progress.

Because our income can no longer cover the medical and dietary expenses for our family, we have been unable to do many needed tests and have had to limit treatments to almost nothing. The result is that our symptoms are growing worse and we have reached a point of desperation.

Multiple doctors have recommended a more intensive treatment for me that doesn’t just kill harmful bacteria and other things that are attacking my body, but also rebuilds the immune system, helping my body to work the way it should, While this treatment offers us great hope, it is a large commitment both financially and time wise.

Money raised would go toward a  5-week treatment that begins in mid-October and includes: every day for the first three weeks, and alternating days for the last two. Treatment involves a combination of intravenous ozone, colloidal silver, bags of nutrients, and glutathione (a detox agent). It seems that many of the lead doctors on Lyme's disease are in agreement that this has proven to be the most effective treatment long term.

Any additional donations beyond the treatment for Sarah, would be put towards childcare during these appointments, along with further testing and treatments for our other children. Our family is clinging to the truth that God has a purpose in allowing this great trial and will somehow carry us through, as dark as things seem at this time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to anyone who serves us in this incredibly tangible way. We don’t deserve or expect anything, but we will be forever grateful for your generosity toward us. In the end, we pray that God will be glorified through our trials and trust that he will either move this mountain or carry us over it in his perfect timing and way. "

Gratefully,

Jeff and Sarah Walton and family

An update from The Waltons:

Thank you all for your incredible support toward our family this year - whether it was financially, practically serving, or praying - we will be forever grateful. It was a long season for us, but we are so thankful that God paved the way through the support of so many to allow us to go through treatment as a family. While we are not 100% and have more to figure out moving forward, we are so thankful for the improvements and greater health it gave to our family. I (Sarah) have been able to function at a much higher level since finishing nearly 3 months of daily iV treatments. It was long and exhausting, and I knew it would have steps to take after, but I’m so thankful for the improvement in many of my symptoms. Being the one who is primarily caring for the kids, this has been a great gift to our whole family. As for the kids, they couldn’t do the treatments for nearly as long, but we are hopeful that it at least gave their bodies some better building blocks and although we have challenges that still linger (some of which may not be fully related to Lyme), we are grateful for the good that we have seen from it.

Though this year has been one for the books, we are so grateful for the Lord’s faithfulness and for the blessing of so many around us who have gone above and beyond to bless our family in so many ways (it brings tears to my eyes even as I think of all the sweet acts of kindness). Though we know challenges remain (of various natures), we have no regrets and are so thankful for what he has given us through these treatments. We now move forward, trusting Him to continue to lead us and to faithfully use every aspect of this long journey for His glory. Thank YOU for being a part of that journey alongside of us. - Jeff and Sarah Walton

I wanted to take this opportunity to give an update on Sarah’s treatment and steps forward as she is finishing the initial treatment phase today. She is encouraged by how much the treatment has helped thus far and now needs to continue with the prescribed next steps in order to take her healing to the next level. Sarah and Jeff would like to express their deep gratitude to all who have contributed to the GoFundMe or have mailed checks privately to help with the tremendous cost of treatment. God has continually showed himself faithful.

After months of growing struggles and discomforts, and a disheartening doctor appointment and test results for all for of the kids, the doctor is recommending that a portion of Sarah’s treatment be administered to each of the children (since lesser treatment options have been either done or ruled out as beneficial).

Would you please join Sarah and Jeff in prayer as they make this decision regarding both the time and energy required to do this as well as the expense of continuing her other treatments and beginning IV treatment for all 4 children? We would like to keep the GoFundMe in place and ask you to consider a gift of any size to help defray the cost of Sarah’s continued treatment and the treatment for the kids. Sarah and Jeff feel the love and support through each of our thoughts and prayers and financial contributions! They know that there is no way they would have been able to receive the targeted treatment that Sarah has received without your help this fall and are so hopeful at this point that the continued prescribed treatment will provide not only symptom relief but greater healing and restored health for Sarah and their children. Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers and support!

I want to share this update from Sarah as some may not have seen it... please keep Sarah and her family in your prayers for ongoing treatment and give generously as you are able.

From Sarah:
Quick Update: I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported me (and my family) financially through the GoFundMe, with meals, and of course, through prayer. These last 5 weeks of my IV treatments have been filled with some very encouraging days and some discouraging ones as well. But I have also come to see how God is working in many more ways than just me pursuing physical healing. I have had the incredible opportunity to share the hope of Christ with several women that I am doing treatments with on a daily basis, which has helped lift my eyes above my circumstances in many ways. And God has continued to faithfully lead us through wisdom from the doctors and others going through these treatments as well. I will be extending the treatments another few weeks and trusting the Lord to provide. Thank you again for your incredible support. I have come to see the beauty of the Body of Christ in a whole new way. May He be glorified through sickness or healing.

Sarah starts treatment tomorrow. Please keep them in your prayers as this will be a marathon not a sprint. We will keep the Gofundme link active throughout the treatment so if you haven't been able to give there is still time. Thanks so much for your generosity and ongoing prayers for the Waltons.
