Help Fund The Potter's Clay Cafe

Dear friends!

I so am grateful you stopped here! Thank you for prayerfully considering a contribution to this campaign, enabling us to plant and sow the love and good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ! I firmly believe that God is directing the steps of my life, and over the past six-eight months has continually opened my heart up to the Central Appalachian region of the United States, revealing it as the mission field for The Potter's Clay Cafe.

THE MINISTRY:
Vision: To share the good news of Jesus Christ and spread his healing agape love with those residing in the Central Appalachian region (and whomever God puts on our path) by way of healthy food and healing through hope! God has burdened my heart for people of Eastern Kentucky, specifically Clay County, as a birthing place for the ministry.

The Holy Spirit gave me three words of focus for The Potter’s Clay Cafe: Discover. Deliver. Disciple. (Each word has multiple functions. To save space this info can be found at the official Facebook page for The Potter's Clay Cafe). Only through Jesus can people discover true and lasting healing but they must be educated on how to receive it. We are called to make disciples, which includes continuing to feed the sheep so they receive spiritual wisdom from God. I believe God’s intention for The Potter’s Clay Café is to feed people both spiritually and physically.

Why Clay County, Kentucky? One Word: Confirmation!
Upon doing research on the area prior to a church mission trip to Oneida, KY and discovering how much need exists, I felt a stirring in my spirit. This was confirmed by witnessing how God showed up, meeting the spiritual and physical needs of those we ministered to. Prior to the trip, while seeking information, God put a property for sale in Oneida, KY (in Clay County) before me, more than once.

After conversations with locals, spanning generations, what I sensed lacking in Clay County are opportunity and hope. Plenty have faith but just as many lack hope. Some of the people I met the day of the mission trip have kept in touch with me and requested prayer. This moves my heart, serving as more confirmation that there is a real need for the witness of God's love in the area.

Ministry Headquarters:
I presently reside in Cincinnati. After the mission trip, God kept pressing this area into my heart, and once again he led me to research the property in Oneida. After much prayer, numerous emails and a long phone conversation with the seller's representative, I decided to go have a look.
More confirmation that God desires the ministry to be headquartered in Clay County, specifically in Oneida, came that day:
The 27+ acre hollow (presently owned by a non-profit foundation) shares a property line with the people whose outreach we served with during that church mission trip. I had no clue until I went to see the property! This is no coincidence because the outreach operates from a private family hollow, in the middle of nowhere. (There is also a church sitting just above the property on the highway, it actually shares a driveway entrance with the property.)

The biggest confirmation came upon being informed by the Board member of the foundation that presently owns the property, they are basically putting a hold on selling to give me time to secure funding. Now THAT is a sign from God if I never saw one!

How Will The Potter's Clay Cafe Serve Needs?

The property, will be renamed to Heavenly Hollow Sanctuary. It will be utilized in multiple ways to help bring opportunity (jobs, events, tourists, community functions) to Clay County, with the goal of restoring hope in overcoming oppression and addiction that is widespread in the region. It would house the commissary, gardens, and a be safe place for those in need of prayer/healing - a sanctuary.

The Potter’s Clay Café | Long-term goals:
1) To become a “mobile café” that can both provide healthy, fresh, prepared food to individuals other ministries in need.
2) To strategically place the mobile unit at local places of interest (city centers, parks, farmers markets, local festivals, etc.) to both market the ministry and offer our product to the general population, collecting a love offering while being a witness to Jesus.
3) Producing and growing much of our own food (using organic practices) in order to supply people with healthier options than processed foods offer. (Especially important for those with food sensitivities, medical conditions and digestive issues.) These people deserve God's best!
4) Working cooperatively with other local growers/producers/restaurants in receiving their overflow as donations to incorporate into food preparation (this is a successful existing process already being utilized across the US).
5) Our “Blessed? Be a blessing!” program: enabling the public to “buy one, give one” product at “purchase” (soups, meals, baked goods…). The program will also be a donation option offered via the website.

Additional opportunity pre-exists on the property, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest:
·      4 vibrant camping cabins
·      Primitive camping spots
·      Fun hiking trails
·      3+ acres containing fruit trees/bushes, food gardens and creeks
·      A main house that will serve as ministry office and commissary
·      Common building with a kitchenette and two huge full baths for guests.
Renting the cabins/camping spots would serve as income that would fund the ministry, create a few job opportunities, as well as bring tourists to the area, encouraging local spending.

The Potter's Clay Cafe @ Heavenly Hollow Sanctuary will host:
1) Local and regional ‘give thanks’ events (monthly community dinners, farm to table events...etc.)
2) Retreats for pastors, ministries and individuals seeking peaceful, natural Sanctuary.
3) Local/regional Christian art, music and crafter gatherings
4) Small groups focusing on spiritual blocks to healing, healing through creativity, etc.
5) Family friendly, Eco-tourism outings. Clay County is the "Land of Swinging Bridges" and Manchester, KY (county seat) is a designated "Trail Town." Learn more about Clay County here.
6) Intimate praise and worship events, including special guest pastors, artists, musicians.

THE COST:
The fundraising goal shown will go toward the following:
1) Down-payment and closing costs on the property; property and liability insurance and any required occupational liscensing
2) Items needed for property maintenance (tools, an ATV, tiller – will accept donations)
3) Marketing collateral for The Potter's Clay Cafe and Heavenly Hollow Sanctuary. (Open to volunteers/donations for: graphic design, website design/set-up, signage [for property] and printing).
4) Relocating one of the cabins to a new spot on the property. (It is currently in a spot that isn’t very accessible or private.)
5) Completing upgrades to one cabin and making all buildings more accessible to those with special needs.
6) Getting the gardens plotted and seeds/starts purchased for the next growing season and hiring p/t grounds help.
7) Reserve cash in case of emergency
8) A small – medium sized screened tent, a long weather resistant folding table and a few chairs for use at outdoor events and on-site (open to donations).
9) Razing of older homestead house on the property, inundated with mold, and sprucing up an out building for use.

The property comes with all furnishings, appliances, lawn mover and some maintenance items for plumbing, electrical, etc. The cabins, main and community buildings were built in the last 5 years and are in immaculate condition, as is the property itself (trails, lawn, trees, etc).

Please know that ANY amount donated will be wholeheartedly appreciated. In my wildest prayers, God would move hearts to cover the entire cost of the property ($239k - negotiable) so the ministry would be debt free going in…what a tremendous blessing for any ministry!

So, who is this woman and why should you support this adventure with the Lord?
First and foremost, I'm a completely sold out disciple of Christ.
Because of Jesus, the chains of bondage in my life have been broken. Generational iniquity stopped. I am free in Christ. Because of Jesus’ healing love and forgiveness, I am whole again after enduring deep hurts from an early age and into adulthood. It is my heart’s desire to help anyone with ears to hear, and eyes to see, find the same peace and restoration many have found through a loving Savior.
Because of Jesus, I am compelled to live my life for God as an empty, usable vessel, to witness on his behalf to those in need of the Father’s love and Jesus’ healing.

The first and constant ministry God ordained in my life is as scribe. He has used this gift in ministering to people through the sharing of my witness and testimony of being delivered and set free in Christ. He uses my present walk with the Lord and also releases messages for His church. I have been privileged to author and edit Christian books, see the short stories and poetry the Holy Spirit flows through me published, and contribute to a global Christian blogger network! I have also helped lead worship, been involved in church leadership and serve with an urban street ministry.

Because of Jesus, my Father in Heaven was able to pluck me from an abusive marriage while still a newlywed; in the midst of this came the discovery of my sibling being trapped in drug addiction. God has been so faithful in helping me pour His loving Truth into her life. While she still struggles and wrestles with receiving from God, there is hope because she has received the Lord as her Savior. I am blessed to recognize how God uses this as training ground for His glory.

Professional background:
In my early 20’s I began to help manage small – medium sized businesses, and was tasked in keeping people organized/focused. Over time, when my writing and creative skills were discovered by employers, I was encouraged to learn and oversee marketing and PR initiatives. This has led to both freelance and corporate level employment, where I have successfully managed accounts and campaigns for companies selling product internationally down to mom and pop start-ups, real estate, artists and more.
