Help send Inuit care packages!
How often do we spend many hours and a lot of money for gifts that aren't even needed or used? By sending a basic care package with food, toiletries, clothing we can make a whole families holiday.
In some areas they charge more than $100 for a case of water, $30 for a head of lettuce, $6 for an apple. 67% of families in Nunavut suffer from food insecurity on a daily basis. That is almost 10x the national average.
Children go to sleep hungry because their parents can't pay these absurd prices. This is OUR country, Canada, not somewhere across the world. It'll cost quite a bit of money to ship boxes up there (between $100-$150 for 20kg box) but imagine how grateful those families are going to be for the most basic things we take for granted everyday.
If you would like help by donating money to send food and goods to families who are in real need, I will be getting the list of families from the organization Helping Our Northern Neighbors.
All money goes toward feeding our Northern Families.
We will also be sending packages to food banks for people without homes/families.
If you're in or around the Toronto area and would like to donate goods, please message us and we can arrange a drop off location.
We're accepting baby diapers/food/wipes, Tolietries, Baking good (flour, baking powder, sugar, pasta etc.) and other light weight foods with nutrition.
Please help me help my people.
We have shipped out another 4 care packages to the food bank in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut.
Gjoa Haven has the most expensive food in the country and recently opened their food bank early last year. They have been struggling to provide enough food and still have debts they need to pay off, so they are very grateful for the goods we sent. Thanks to your donations we will continue to support them, and other families in need! :)
Baking Supplies (Flour/Baking Powder/Sugar etc.)
Toiletries (tooth brushes/paste/deodorant/2 in 1 shampoo/soap/body wash)
Any light weight foods
Thank you all so much and please continue to share the cause!
As more care packages are made and sent we continue to welcome donated goods such as: Baby Diapers/food/wipes/oil etc, Baking supplies Ie: Baking soda/Baking Powder/Flour, Toiletries, small toys: coloring books, crayons, pens, and anything else you have the means to donate. At the very least please continue to help us spread the word by sharing this link. The more people we reach, the more change we can bring! We are so excited and grateful for the work we've all done so far and will continue to do together one package at a time!
ps...is it true amazon.ca shipping fees to the territories are the same as to the provinces?
I'm glad it was so successful! Keep going...people want to help. :)
