As a follow up, the gift of a heated bed where he currently sleeps was great and a good example of supporting the Stubbarts efforts. I hope it was large enough!

I am very concerned, since he experienced a puppy mill, that this capture will recall those memories and only create the same fear . I DON'T BELIEVE THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS. This dog is just 'coming around ' to trusting the Stubbarts, on his own terms in his own time. He IS coming around to it, so WHY DISTURB THAT? WHY NOT HELP THE STUBBARTS fund his upkeep and care, and allow him to continue his journey of trust? IT WILL BE LESS TRAUMATIC FOR HIM! Trapping him will only cause PANIC and DISTRUST...horrible emotions to experience when someone else is in control. ALL THIS CAN BE AVOIDED by letting nature take its course. One size does not fit all!!!

I would also like to know why this net gun wasn't borrowed in the first place and also when the fund was reached (days ago ) that the gun wasn't ordered to be delivered in a timely fashion ! I have worried about this dog spending cold painful nights when those in control of the funds sat on some chances to catch him.. I am not there in body , but I have been there in spirit and my donation HAS BEEN THERE! Why is he still wandering in the cold ?

I am so happy your community has been trying to catch this poor pup. I am not sure if you have tried this but its something that worked for me in a similar situation. We but a dog run beside a building with a window. Attached a cord to the door so we could pull the door closed. For a few days we just let her go in there and feed. Then one night we sat in waiting. She came in. We pulled the rope tight and the door slammed shut. Another person went out to ensure she didn't push it back open. It took us some time to get her out from there but it was so worth it :) Good luck I can't wait to see him safe

What these good people dig with Shaggy, I do with feral cats (TNR). It's incredibly satisfying to work with them and win their trust, although it's "trust with a distance". After about 10 years, I'm still unable to touch them, but they are happy with their lives.

Please help Shaggy! We hope donations far exceed your goal and can be used for complete veterinary care. We'd love to adopt him, we have a 110 lb Golden Retriever rescue-Moose- who we adopted over 4 years ago!

I cannot stop thinking about Shaggy and am saying prayers and sending lots of love and light for a safe, stress free rescue. I just wish it was able to be orchestrated before the severe cold that is going to be hitting the region tonight and tomorrow. I will continue to check for updates and don't think I will be able to fully rest until he is safe. Many Blessings, Heather

Do everything to save Shaggy and don't hesitate to ask for help from Hope for Paws. It's gets bitterly cold where you are a double coat may not be enough to keep him alive.
