Raelynn's Leukemia Medical Fund

$10,280 of $20,000 goal

Sweet energetic 1 year old Raelynn’s life drastically changed after her mom and dad Doug and Katherine, noticed Raelynn wasn't feeling well.  They brought their daughter Raelynn to her pediatrician. He thought it was just a toddler phase and did not opt to do blood test as he felt it was unnecessary. He said to wait till her birthday Nov 30th before doing a blood test. A week later Oct 31st Raelynn wasn’t eating, drinking and had no energy so Katherine intuition said to take her back for blood test.

They received a call, And the Pediatrian share his concern of Raelynn having a high probability of Leukemia.  Raelynn and her family, mom, dad and brother Ethan, life now changed forever. They were directed to take her to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for more testing. After several days of tests, most inconclusive, the results of a bone marrow test came back on November 04, 2017. They showed Acute Myeloid Leukemia, but they are not yet sure the subtype.

There are likely to be a large number of medical bills, and other costs to the family, that come with this type of diagnosis. We hope that the good-hearted people out there can help support Raelynn and her family.

The doctors have recommended Chemotherapy as a first treatment option. If all goes well they suggest four to six rounds. each round lasting four to six weeks. During the downtime, between rounds of chemo, she will be able to return home maybe for a week.

I will be keeping this fundraiser updated as we get more information and may adjust the goal according to the treatment options and medical needs. We are starting out with a goal of $5,000.00. Your donation can help save the life of our beautiful Raelynn and your support will not go unappreciated.  Any extra funds would be paid forward that are not needed for her medical expenses.

100% of all donations will go directly to the care and support of Raelynn.

Raelynn and all her family want to thank everyone for their support in these difficult times.

3/6/18 Wow it has been a long time since I (Meema) have provided an update. Sorry! Raelynn came home for 10 days which at least 8 of those days her mom Katherine, dad Doug and brother Ethan were very sick with this flu. Then if that wasn’t bad enough Raelynn, Katherine and Ethan got the stomach flu. Katherine and Doug brought Raelynn into Dornbeckers to be checked and her numbers looked good so they said she could stay her last couple days at home. Well the stomach flu continued for Raelynn until she returned to the hospital for her round #4 of chemo on March 1st. Now I had remained healthy until the day before Raelynn had to be readmitted. Now I have the flu bug and can’t be with Katherine to help her through this difficult round. Raelynn has a very hard chemo this round and has to take medicine to protect her heart and also has to have multiple echocardiograms plus her nauseas is back as expected. Please pray for my sweet granddaughter and any supporting notes of love and support are always wonderful to hear and read to her. Love to all! Thanks for all your support!

2/2/18 Today from Raelynn’s Meema. Raelynn was put into Isolation last night. They have to do test to look for certain infections that could be causing her issues. I did get to visit last night for a bit and we laughed and danced on her bed and had a nice 2 year old version of a conversation. Katherine and I also had a nice visit. We thought she was out of the woods for the worse part for this round 3 of chemo then Isolation came into play. So please care and share. Please continue the prayers as we have to give this to God and trust he is beside her helping her get through these toughest of times. Thanks you!
Pray for Raelynn’s health and strength!

2/1/18 From Meema - Raelynn my poor sweet granddaughter is really struggling. She may need to be put on isolation for a couple of days. They want to test for certain bacteria’s and infections. Until the results come back she will need to remain in isolation. Her Dad and brother are both very sick so we can’t support Katherine who lives at the hospital taking care of Raelynn. Please pray for our family for healing and good health. Thanks!
Please pray so I can smile again!
