Help Samuel Complete His Degree
Thank you for showing interest in my campaign to clear my fees and becoming a graduate!
I was a student under a full scholarship from the Rivers State Government of Nigeria. Until three years ago, life as a sponsored student was seemingly good and I was filled with joy to be studying Medical Sciences BSc at the University of Leeds. Then came the heart breaking news that the Government of Rivers State will be withdrawing their sponsorship with immediate effect and they were already in arrears in payment of my fees which includes my tuition, accommodation and living expenses. As at when my sponsorship was withdrawn in 2016, I was in my second year and my tuition fees together with accommodation fees had not been paid. I was assured by the Government that all of my second year fees will be paid in full but till date, the payment is still outstanding and I am now in debt to the University.
As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult situation for me to handle as I've been left alone to clear my debt and also pay my final year fees in other to graduate. Currently, I am being threatened with dismissal from the university and I have not been able to enroll for my final year. I have exhausted all options and this is somewhat my last hope to raise funds to complete my degree.
Although I have managed to find paid work, as an international student I have limited permission to work. This means I am restricted to only part time hours of employment. This continues to make it very difficult for me to gather enough money to clear my outstanding charges and financially plan for my final year.
I do believe that where there is a good will, there is a great way. And so, every donation as much or as little will go a long way to enabling me become a graduate.
