Send Sam to Get Treatment

As some of you know, our Sam has been fighting against debilitating pain for some time. In 2012, she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after 2 years of tests and numerous visits to the hospital. However, even after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, she continued to deteriorate to the stage of now being bed-bound and unable to do many of the things we take for granted. She was asked to leave College 3 times due to her illness and when she gets out of the house (approx. once a month) she does so in a wheelchair.
The challenge we now face is that 4 years after she was diagnosed, we now believe that she was misdiagnosed and instead, she has Lymes Disease. Lymes Disease causes the following symptoms - all of which Sam has:
- pain and swelling in the joints (inflammatory arthritis),
- problems affecting the nervous system – such as numbness and pain in your limbs, paralysis of your facial muscles, memory problems and difficulty concentrating,
- heart problems – such as inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis) or sac surrounding the heart (pericarditis), heart block and heart failure,
- inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord – which can cause a severe headache, a stiff neck and increased sensitivity to light,
- other symptoms (such as hallucinations, tremors, shakes, spasms, and sweats).
We have exhausted the options available to us here. She has tried Intravenous (IV) Infusion Therapy and is currently on Oxymorph, Amitriptyline (200mg when the maximum dose for an outpatient is 150mg), and a whole host of other drugs. She has even tried alternative treatments at a lifestyle centre but to no avail. None of these has any impact on the pain she experiences on a daily basis. The Intravenous (IV) Infusion Therapy didn't even touch the pain she was in.
The option that is available to us is to send her to Sponaugle Wellness Institute. Their success rates for helping individuals with Lymes Disease is incredible. Lymes Disease, for the regular treatment to be effective, should be diagnosed within 6 months but for Sam, she has been dealing with this now for 6 years. We want to send her to Sponaugle Wellness Institute as soon as possible to help give her life back.
It has been recommended to Sam that she attend for approx. 3 months. Her treatment will be personalised and she will have the best care possible. We have connected with other individuals who have been through the same treatment and the results are incredible. The cost for the treatment, accommodation, flights and living costs for 3 months is approx. $85,000 or £60,000.

Sam was once a bubbly young lady with a lot of life in her. She always had a smile on her and was a pleasure to be around. She is suffering right now and there isn't much time left.
