Help Nonni rebuild her home!

Donation protected

Please help my mom, Gloria Lilja, 84,  of Beverly, rebuild the home that "contractor" Jaime Ford cruelly and maliciously destoyed.

The first picture
shows the once tidy little 19 Chipman Road ranch that she and my late father, Albert, worked so hard to build. When she took a bad fall in July of 2014, together we decided to join homes so that she, along with my husband and I, and our young children, could all live together.

Pictured in the second photo are Gloria's grandchildren, riding their bikes past the 3,000 sf shell of their Nonni's home as it stands today. All because of one Jaime Ford, described by an Essex County judge  as "a predator of frauds without a conscience."

In just over a year's time, this fake contractor singlehandedly robbed my mother of over $200,000,

With more than 80 counts against him including forgery, larceny, home improvement contractor fraud, violating the state's air pollution law, uttering, tax evasion, perjury, money laundering and worker's compensation fraud, law officials are quite sure that Ford will pay the ultimate price when his case goes to trial. But at what cost to my mom?

She is unlikely to see a dime from this slick individual who conveniently had nothing in his name -- not the $4k a month new construction home he rented and certainly not the 2 brand-new Cadillac Escalades he purchased the day after Gloria's first payment to him of $25k.

Ford even told people that his very much alive wife had died -- once to convince the website Thumbtack to take down a number of bad reviews that had been written about his company, JFA Services --  and again to another victim in Hudson, MA who was questioning Ford on why progress had slowed on the work  on her property.

Jaime Ford has left Gloria on the verge of bankruptcy, not exactly the way this retired Beverly Hospital labor and delivery nurse,  who saved everything she could making an honest living, planned to spend her golden years.

It is not easy for this proud Italian woman who has spent her life on the giving, to be on the receiving end of charity.  But Gloria needs your contributions to help her get her home and her life back. Anything you can contribute, big or small, will certainly help. She also needs reputable contractors to come forward and help rebuild her home.

Please -- Share this story on your social media accounts. Let's get this story the nationwide attention it truly deserves. Perhaps it will serve as a warning the public that people like Jaime Ford are out there, preying on intelligent, yet trusting individuals who simply expect quality construction work for the good money they are paying out.

Contributing to this cause hopefully will provide an 84-year-old grandmother with a more Christmas mornings at home, more summer days watching her grandchildren swim in the pool, more Sundays in the kitchen with Nonni, her famous Italian Wedding Soup simmering on the stove.  It will help a good, hard-working, middle-class Beverly family erase some of the nightmare that has been the past two years.

Thank you all.
