My journey continues into 2018, with chemotherapy possibly followed by radiation and ultimately a few more surgeries. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to this campaign already, the support has helped me tremendously.
I have adjusted the goal on the campaign to cover yet another year's worth of medical bills. I plan to continue working as much as I can but there may be some weeks when that will not be possible.

I believe that communities can help each other through all kinds of challenges, so I'm turning to my network of friends, family, and followers for a little help with my second battle against breast cancer.
Earlier this year I was diagnosed with a recurrence of breast cancer, almost exactly four years after my first diagnosis and subsequent treatment. I was just starting to recover financially from the hit I took four years ago when the medical bills started piling up again.
Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon story, I know many of you have faced a similar situation or you know someone who has. I'm not in the worst place, I have decent health insurance, but I will need funds to cover deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses, plus I will need to take some time to recover from treatment. Even though I don't like to slow down, it will be necessary to take a breather.
I will be having a bi-lateral mastectomy in early November plus DIEP flap reconstruction, an extensive transplant surgery that requires microsurgery to reconnect the blood supply to the tissue flaps. I will be documenting my experience on my new website FelineSoFine.com. I invite you to follow along there if you are interested.
If I can reach the goal set in this campaign, I will be able to truly rest and get through the surgery so I can get back to business as usual as soon as possible afterward. I appreciate any support you can provide, financially or otherwise.
